| I've been on the lookout for a powerful, easy to use, and legally free graphics program. I've found a couple that I like and I haven't really settled on any one in particular yet.
One of those is Paint.NET. It started out as someone's college project and has evolved from there.
Here's a neat example of what you can do and a slightly different version. I like the second one better. The reason these are so large is because I'm working on putting together some desktop wallpapers.
What can you put together? (note: the use of Paint.NET is not a requirement, nor is this an endorsement thereof... etc etc .. you get the idea. I guess I should add that one of the other two is PhotoFiltre - not bad for the French, and the other of the other two is GIMP - an open-source project with a frustrating mix of good powerful features and a horrid user interface.) | There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you. - Will Rogers |

| They have some killer tutorials in their forums. Once you get the hang of where everything is, you can do quite a lot.
I did forget to mention one other free graphics program that I've found quite useful - InkScape. Its a little different than the other two in that it is a vector graphics program. (But still very useful for just about anything you wanted to do.) | There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you. - Will Rogers

| The more I look at it, the more I see where traditional drawing principles come into play with computer animation.
Its also worth noting that the Paint.NET crew have released a much newer version since I originally posted this, and its made some big improvements. There's still a few things left to fix before I ditch that last copy of PhotoShop, but its close. | There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you. - Will Rogers
