Well, he is just a human... an exceedingly talented guitar playing human, but a human none the less.

I do share your sentiments though, I hope he does clean up - and for good this time. I think he still has a lot to contribute to the music community in the form of knowledge and experience. I bet he's still got some cool guitar designs floating around.

I hope he get's clean so he can return to his old form , that was pretty messy . Sad , I never imagined he could end up like that , guess I held him too high .

Yeah, it looks like all those years of abuse have caught up to Eddie.

On the other hand, its nice to know that he's still around and tinkering with guitars, amps, etc. I have a feeling he won't die until he's physically incapable of handling a guitar.
ShredheadPosted - 27 May 2007 : 03:00:58
Man... I'm shattered ! I knew he went in for rehab... but I had no idea .

Double oops - that's not the full vid, but between the two of them you get as close to it as you can.

Looks like Fender is embracing YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=fendermusical&p=v

Oops, here's the full video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwjUmxcnVMM

"Eddie's appearance at the 2007 Frontline Live concert was a landmark moment for the music industry, as it was the official launch of EVH Brand Guitars, Amplifiers, and Musical Products. And what would a product launch be without a new product? So for your viewing pleasure, we share this exclusive video clip from the show of Eddie introducing the Frankenstein™ replica guitar!"

Now that is funny! And here I was getting ready to post this:

Edward Van Halen during Fender's Winter NAMM 2007 Global Dealer and Distributor Reception, held Jan. 19th, 2007, at the Marriott in Anaheim. He's showcasing the replica guitars.

Easy, Aussie....you probably own the original Baez LP (that's vinyl record album for you youngsters out there)...
AnonJrPosted - 27 Mar 2007 : 12:23:28
Sorry, no iAnything here... .. I'll see if I can find it somewhere else.
ShredheadPosted - 27 Mar 2007 : 06:00:30
Joan Baez...someone's showing their age .
Yeah , I like the VH ones too , Big Bad Bill , Dancing in the Streets , Pretty Woman .
If you've got i tunes though , the Nickleback one is worth the dollar . Nothing acrobatic in the playing , but it certainly catches the vibe .

I didn't know that "Diamonds and Rust" was a cover tune. Learn something new every day.

Then again, I didn't realize just how many Van Halen tunes were covers.... at least they admitted they were covers, unlike a certain heavy metal band I won't name.
AXEMAN2415Posted - 26 Mar 2007 : 22:33:32
My vote would either be jUdas Priest covering "Diamonds And Rust" by Joan Baez, or Extreme doing the Queen medley at Wembly Stadium after Freddy Mercury passed.

Of course, Van Halen's cover of "You Really Got Me" is still my personal fave, but I am a lifelong fan, so....
AnonJrPosted - 24 Mar 2007 : 19:22:08
I haven't heard that remake yet. I may have to head out to their website now....

I actually liked the remake of "Behind Blue Eyes" that Fred Durst had done. He also did a decent remake of "Wish you were here" with John Reznic (sp?) of Goo Goo Dolls fame.

Oh, and you can't forget Hendrix's rendition of "All Along the Watch Tower", or Van Halen's cover of "You Really Got Me" (or any of the other covers Van Halen has done for that matter)
