Recently Aimee Mullins has been making an appearance as a guest author on tech site Gizmodo for their week long spree of articles called "This Cyborg Life" (yes, there has been a fair amount of cheese)

While most of the articles have fallen in the "neat" category, and some the "stupid", and some naturally went in a NSFW direction. The article I'm going to link to is probably the most thought-provoking of all the articles they posted this past week.

Racing on Carbon Fiber Legs: How Abled Should We Be?

As a reminder for those who don't know/remember: Aimee Mullins had both legs amputated below the knee. Her family doctor said she'd never learn to walk. At the age of 19, she set world records in the 100-meter dash and long jump.

That was Aimee Mullins the athlete, running on early prototypes of now-commonplace carbon fiber legs. Since the 1996 Paralympics, she's worked as a fashion model, a speaker, and an actress, while making her way into more sports and culture publications than we can count. (Taken from the bio posted on Gizmodo)

What are your thoughts on the article?
